Court terminates charges against Alex Badeh
An Abuja Federal High Court has terminated the charges against Alex Badeh, the late former Chief of Defence Staff, which was filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)
The court presided over by Justice Okon Abang in its judgement found Iyalikam Nigeria Limited, the company which is standing trial with Mr Badeh, guilty of the charges.
It ordered that all properties of the company in line with the 10-count amended charge be forfeited to the federal government through the EFCC.
He also ordered that the Corporate Affairs Commission should be notified of the ruling.
“Having regard to the plea bargain and plea duly taken, I hereby find the defendant Iyalikam Nigeria limited guilty.
“The defendant is hereby wound up and this judgement shall be served on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for necessary action.
“All properties in line with the 10-count charge are hereby forfeited to the Federal Republic of Nigeria through the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC).
Court sacks Kano PDP governorship candidate
In thesame vein, the Federal High Court presided over by Justice Lawis Alagoa on Monday has sacked the Kano PDP governorship candidate, Abba K. Yusuf in the Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
The Judge ruled that Abba K. Yususf’s candidature is not recognized by law because no primary election was held to produce him.
The Judge, however, ruled that the PDP should conduct a fresh primary to produce a candidate that can be recognized by law before Saturday’s election.
Kabir is the main challenger of the incumbent governor of the state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
