Man nabbed with 19 wraps of raw gold in Lagos
Raw Gold: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested one Mannir Hamza Ahmed in Lagos for being in possession of 19 wraps of raw gold.
The suspect, Mannir Hamza, who is being investigated for an alleged case of conspiracy, illegal mining and export of mineral resources, was arrested, yesterday, March 1, 2019 aboard an Emirates flight to Dubai, following intelligence report received by the Commission.
At the point of his arrest, the Commission found 19 wraps in his luggage. The suspect neither presented any evidence of declaration of the items nor payment of royalties to the Federal Government. He will soon be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
In thesame vein, A fake football agent identified as, Abdulhadi Bushra Ahmed, has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for N3.2m fraud.
Abdulhadi Bushra Ahmed, who is the Managing Director of Ali- Alia Travels and Tours, was arraigned before Justice O.A. Adeniyi of Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, sitting in Apo, Abuja on a one-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence.
The charge reads: “
That you, Abdulhadi Bushra Ahmed, Managing Director of Ali- Alia Travels and Tours on or about the 4th day of August 2013 within the jurisdiction of this High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, obtained a sum of N3,240,000 (Three Million Two Hundred and Forty Thousand Naira) from one Ugochukwu Prince Diki, a football coach, under the false pretence of being a licensed football agent who can produce visas for Europe and Asia, and serves as a football contractor on behalf of the players, which you knew was false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1(2) of Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Act 2006.”
